Denise Farris, LCSW

Offers Online Services Only

I am an LCSW with experience in working with both recent trauma, long-term and/or ongoing trauma, and crisis situations. I work with First Responders, Veterans, and adults to overcome the hiccups of life and find better ways of coping in order to be happier. I use a combination of evidence-based practice methods including EMDR, CBT, CPT, Trauma Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing. I developed an Anger Management Class for the Incarcerated Veterans.

I was a first responder in EMS for 23 years, so I have a different outlook on life. I understand the problems that First responders and Veterans have, who often feel alone or that no one will understand them. I also know about the anger and other emotions that one goes through and then files in their mind in hopes they will go away. One of my goals is to help destigmatize mental health and also make it accessible in a more private setting. Doing online sessions allows each person to receive the treatment they want without being seen going into ‘The Therapy Office.’

I graduated from Texas State University at San Marcos with a Masters Degree in Advanced Practice Social Work. I went on to obtain my LCSW and am now licensed in Colorado and Texas. I continue to add to my tool belt through different trainings to better meet the needs of the people I work with.
