When you’re feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure how to move forward, it can be difficult to know where to begin. Therapy can provide a safe place to better understand what you’re experiencing, recognize what may be keeping you stuck, and begin making meaningful changes. I enjoy working with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship and family challenges, and issues surrounding identity or independence. My style is warm, calm, collaborative, and supportive, and I strive to create an environment where you can be yourself, speak openly without judgment, and feel genuinely understood. My approach is person-centered and individualized, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness, psychoeducation, and strengths-based approaches. Depending on your needs, our work may involve exploring emotions and past experiences, identifying patterns in thoughts and behaviors, and developing practical coping and emotional regulation skills you can use outside of therapy. I have particular clinical interests in trauma, anxiety, neurodivergence, substance use and recovery, and forensic mental health. I believe meaningful progress begins with a strong therapeutic relationship and grows through greater self-awareness, curiosity, and the opportunity to practice new ways of responding to life’s challenges. Rather than simply telling you what to do, I want to work alongside you as you identify your own strengths, goals, and path forward. I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of New Haven and am completing my clinical training as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern. I have experience working with adults in an inpatient substance use treatment setting at Rushford, where I have supported individuals throughout the recovery process and facilitated therapeutic and psychoeducational groups. I became a therapist because I have always been interested in understanding people and the experiences that shape who they are, and I value helping people feel understood while creating meaningful change in their lives. I provide therapy in English and Turkish.
