My goal as a therapist is to help people help themselves. I believe that while individuals and families are inherently creative and resilient, they can often get "stuck" and lose sight of their strengths, while developing habits that no longer serve them. I work with individuals, couples, and families of all configurations to identify these obstacles, develop clear goals, and establish healthy ways of navigating life’s challenges.
I have clinical experience treating clients facing anxiety, depression, relationship dissatisfaction, self-esteem issues, and gender or sexuality concerns. I am particularly passionate about supporting families through "failure to launch" scenarios as well as individuals and families navigating the complexities of memory deficits, including Alzheimer’s and dementia. My therapeutic approach is grounded in Structural Family Therapy, often incorporating Strategic and Bowenian models. I naturally integrate strength-based interventions with psychoeducation and empathic listening to ensure my clients feel heard while gaining practical tools for change.
I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Darien Wellness. I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University and my Bachelor’s degree in Social Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to my clinical career, I spent over 15 years as a higher education administrator. This experience provides me with unique insight into the systemic challenges individuals face when adjusting to college life and striving to create a meaningful, independent adult identity.
