I believe that therapy is a space where you can feel safe to express your emotions and share your concerns without judgment. In our everyday lives, it can feel uncomfortable to discuss issues with friends or family due to fear of judgment or the possibility that they might be part of the problem. Therapy provides a neutral space where clients can openly express themselves while also offering the opportunity to relearn and reprocess experiences, all within the support of a positive therapeutic relationship.
My clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client-Centered Therapy and elements of Brief Solution-Focused Therapy as well. I use these approaches to help clients focus on their strengths, change unhelpful thought patterns and build a collaborative path toward their goals. In addition, I work with clients around issues related to Attachment Theory and bring a multicultural perspective to my practice, ensuring that I consider the diverse backgrounds and experiences of each client.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and am currently a second-year graduate student at the University of New Haven in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I am also an intern at Darien Wellness, where I apply my academic knowledge to real-world therapeutic settings.
